You can't see it, but there's some very speedy tail wagging action going on behind Elvis! The little guy has a very sensitive tummy, so no real cake or birthday treats for him. But he loves his "faux" birthday food. Why? In one word, squeakers! The two birthday cakes are just the right size for a small dog (please don't tell him, he thinks he's a big dog) and he has been trotting these two around ever since his Big Day. The plush cake toy with the candles plays Happy Birthday music, which really gets both Elvis and Beamie's attention. They stare and stare and sniff at it and find it a very curious toy. We think they are music lovers!
Can you believe Elvis told me he doesn't need to celebrate his birthday to get new toys?

Elvis has a birthday today! He's six years old and extremely proud of his six years of poodle-ness! He's been dreaming about how he'll celebrate: steak dinner, cup cakes, toys he doesn't have to share with Beamie and so much more. The little guy is just bouncing with excitement. Well, that's pretty much how he is every day. He's been barking his birthday news at anyone who will listen.
Presenting our August Photo Contest Winner! His Mom, Linda, says, "Harry is a three-legged Hairless Chinese Crested. I adopted him from the Humane Society of NE Georgia in March of 2011, basically via text message to a friend that works there. I knew within minutes of seeing his picture posted on FB that he was going to become part of my family. He's a dynamo and doesn't let anything slow him down (especially his missing leg). He goes to all kinds of events and is an ambassador for shelter/special needs pets. LOVE my "son"!!
Elvis is all wrapped up in his teddy bear blanket. All tuckered out from a weekend of playing, eating, sleeping, running. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Ah, a poodle's life is fun...but tiring!
